Appearance is more than the clothes we wear.  It includes the attitude we present to the world.  Presenting a confident, smiling image with your arms at your side or lying on the surface in front of you is more open and makes you more approachable.  It will also make you feel good.  A smile can cover up lots of things!  Don’t take my word for it take a look were

One of the things that I would tell my co-workers was ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING.  If you tell yourself you won’t get hired – you won’t. Watch the U Tube video about Nick Vujicic .

Are you happy?  That is up to you to determine also.  You can talk yourself into almost anything by what YOU are telling yourself.  If it is within your realm of possibility you can do it.  Elizabeth Scott has several good articles on attitude and selftalk.  The link to one of her articles is .


Revive your feet, legs and back!

Do your feet hurt?  Do your legs hurt?  Does your back hurt?  Do you stand a great deal of your day?  Let’s think about how to revive renew and restore the feet, legs and back.

The style of shoe you choose to wear makes all the difference in how the feet, legs and back feel.  Are you a flip flop wearer?  These are very bad for all three of those body areas according to the American Orthopedic Association.   In an article by John Whyte, MD, MPH ( he talks about the findings of researchers about the effects of wearing this popular style of shoe.  The long and short of the article is that this style is a bad choice unless you desire to pay the doctors big bills in the long run. We have a personal friend who went through painful reconstructive foot surgery back in May.  She spent 4 months on the equivalent of bed rest and is just now beginning to get around.

Then what style of shoe is recommended?  “Contrary to popular belief, completely flat shoes are not recommended when standing on your feet all day. According to the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario workers, your heel should be elevated by at least 1/4 inch. This allows the show to have a good arch support. Alternately, shoes with a heel of 2 inches or higher are not recommended.” Read more: The article also states that the toes need plenty of room.
Remember the pointed toe shoes and how they pinch.  Take care of your feet and they will take care of you.  Remember as you shop for that perfect pair of shoes, the heel needs to be not less than ¼ inch, nor more than 2 inches.  You can also find more on the subject at…/thought-heels-were-bad-see-ho .

Welcome to ReviveRenewRestoreBlog.  I am Diane Fehler a woman of sixty plus years that has been in the worlds of business, education, sales and service during my past work life.  Today’s life is that of a retired grandmother, mother, wife and volunteer.


I am interested in sharing with you ways to revive renew restore many aspects of images presented to the world and also the one we present to ourselves.  What is your image when you go to the grocery store, shopping, work, out for dinner etc?  Do you like that image?  What does your image say to the world?
What do you think when you are faced with someone whose clothing is molded to her body.  The spaces between the buttons gape, each spare tire is accentuated and the continental divide isn’t left out.  Oh my!  I have seen customers and associates that could not keep their eyes off the gape in a blouse to conduct business with a person so dressed.  In my work life there was a young woman this describes that always wore clothes two to three sizes too small.  The boss suggested she get clothing that was a better fit. The result was no better!  Needless to say this temp didn’t get to stay long.  There are books out there to help us know what to wear for our body type, coloring and height.  Two of these are Frumpy to Fabulous: Flaunting It: Your Ultimate Guide to Effortless Style. Reviving her image would not have to be expensive.  Three pair of neutral (navy, black, gray or khaki) colored slacks or skirts of a style flattering to her body shape are a starting place followed by solid color blouses. Once again the styles most flattering for the body type and coloring should be chosen.  With three purchased there are nine different combinations.  To change things up a nice blazer or vest gives even more possibilities.  Our subject now has a revived renewed and restored image.

Oh, you say I forgot the shoes.  The shoes aren’t forgotten.  Let’s talk about them next time.
